Celebrate the Small Things

Image
Celebrate the Small Things is a weekly bloghop now hosted by Lexa Cain . The idea is to post anything you want to celebrate from the last week, no matter how small. This week I'm celebrating: - I spent the whole day yesterday tidying my house - ever since we moved, it's been full of cardboard boxes and clutter, and now it looks so much better.  - I also made a cherry pie; I did cheat, using shop bought pastry and pie filling, but it was still an achievement for me. I'm a great cake baker, but pastry is unknown territory for me. I figured I'd start off easy! I also made jam tarts from the extra pastry I had.  - I spent a large part of Sunday sat in my garden enjoying the sun - the first time I've felt warmth from it all year. Hopefully there's more to come!

This week I'm celebrating: - I had a fantastic weekend off; I went to see my friends from university on Saturday, then I spent Sunday with my mum.  - Chocolate! I still have some Easter eggs left, and I'm trying to pace myself to make them last longer.  - I've been working my way through the new season of Masterchef this week - it always inspires me to try cooking new things.

Goals for April

So I didn't achieve any of my goals for March, even though there were only two! I just had a really busy month. My goals from March were: - Read 4 books - I've been in a bit of a reading rut last month, but hopefully that will change this month! - Plan my A to Z posts - I didn't even get one post planned, which is terrible! This is the first year since I started blogging that I'm not taking part in the challenge, but I'm definitely going to be doing it next year.  OK, so here are my goals for April: - Read 4 books - I need to do this this month, I'm already two books behind schedule on my Goodreads challenge! - Check out some A to Z blogs - I haven't had chance to see what everyone's come up with this year yet; I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's posts.  - Do some writing - I didn't get any done last month, because of how busy I was, but I'm determined to do some this month. Whether it's working on my WIP or

First things first; I've decided not to participate in the A to Z challenge. I'm sad about this, because it'll be the first time since I started blogging that I haven't taken part. However, I've realised that I just won't have the time to write a post each day; I'd really rather have scheduled them in advance, but I've been so busy lately! Good luck to everyone who is taking part, I'll make sure to stop by and check out your posts!  This week I'm celebrating:  - I got to see my favourite band, Trivium, live on Saturday night. My sister and I got absolutely drenched on the way to the venue, but the band totally made up for it. We had an amazing time, I can't wait to see them again.  - I have this weekend off, and I'm going to see my friends from university to
